****Tim-tossing and turning in bed. Restless dreams are dancing inside of his mind. Sarah gently shakes his shoulder. He sits bolt upright in bed, sweat is pouring down his face. "What! What! What is it! Are the kids OK?!" he shouts. Sarah softly responds "It's all right honey. You were having one of your nightmares again." "What was it this time?" asks Tim wearily. Sarah answers with a quizzical look on her face "I couldn't quite make out what you were saying, but I think you were talking to your crew friends again." She goes on to say "You kept mumbling over and over again something like...

Lapbooks, Schmapbooks, Part 2! Do you want some free Lapbooks?
Mood:  incredulous
Topic: FamiliesAgain Freebies

Do you remember my Lapbook Schmapbooks post a few months back? Well, guess what? A fellow TOS Homeschool Crew friend of mine, Tristan, at Our Busy Homeschool is having a great giveaway! A super membership to a great lapbook (plus more!) company called Hands of a Child.

The super membership will give you discounts to all of their lapbooks, PLUS, a bunch of free lapbooks along the way. They have lapbooks for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! Even if you aren't a homeschooler, your kids would love them just because they are fun. Aren't we all looking for something that's educational and fun for our kids to do instead of video games and TV?

You can check out my Lapbook Schmapbooks review by clicking here or above.

You can check out the info about the TOS Homeschool Crew by clicking here  or above.

You can check out Hands of a Child by clicking here or above.

Click on Tristan's Our Busy Homeschool blog to find out how to get your name in the drawing by clicking here or above.

Oh my goodness, there's so much clicking that I need to hush up and let you click away! Have fun!

Date Nights? What are those?!?
Mood:  happy
Topic: Family

Yes, I know what a date night is, but unfortunately Sarah and I don't experience them much anymore. With our three hoodlums...err...I mean precious boys, it's hard to find time to get away much less find a baby sitter.

Thankfully Sarah and I have some good friends that don't mind John Allen's teenage attitude, Joshua's asperger's, and Jacob's terrible twos that have stretched into his fours. I know, our children are a challenge at times but two of Sarah's ladies ~ a mother and her adult daughter ~ don't seem to mind, and the boys love them back. Thank you Lauri and Ann!

Sarah and I decided to go on a hot date to Applebees and Wal-Mart. Now, I know what you are thinking, but even Wal-Mart can be considered a hot date when you go minus kids!

And Applebees was delicious. It was certainly a change of pace from fast food play places. I traded in my frozen burger patty for a steak, my fries for good mashed potatoes and the lettuce, tomato, and pickle for steamed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. We even got APPETIZERS! Can you believe it!

We sat and talked and relaxed without interuptions, or mission phones ringing, or knocks on the door, or TV's blaring...well, you get the picture. We did get a couple of cell phone calls. We left them on for the babysitters, but one or two others called as well.

Sarah and I used to go out on monthly dates, but that was before homeschool. We have often thought of going back go them, but it just didn't seem possible before. Now that we have some reliable people that our kids love, I think we might do some more of this dating.

Hmmm...sounds good to me!

Homeschool Library Builders - Prop Up Your Feet and Build Your Library From Home
Mood:  happy
Topic: Homeschool Product Review

If your like me, you spend a lot of time online, or in book stores (used an new) looking for books for your kids. Maybe your a homeschooler, again like me, and looking for specific books that you want your child to read for school. Maybe your a parent that just cares about what your child reads and wants them to devour good literature. Did you ever wish you could find all of those books from a reputable company for a cheap price? Have you looked for a place but not found one? Look no more! I've found it for you! Homeschool Library Builder!

If you are a homeschooler, do you use one of these great curriculums ~ Five in a Row, Sonlight, Beautiful Feet, Veritas Press, Tapestry of Grace, Ambleside Online? You know that you only have two choices ~ either buy the book that they require through the company or find them someplace else. If you buy from the company it may cost an arm and a leg, even with their discounts. If you go in search for them elsewhere, however, you have to search the library, ebay, used bookstores and then if you don't find them there, you end up buying them from the company anyway. Well, Homeschool Library Builder has most of them right on their site. They are just a click away. Some are new at a discounted price, others are used at an even better price. Even the used ones are in very good condition, so you have nothing to use. They even have a search engine that you can search for books by the curriculum that requires them! Need something from Sonlight year 7? Go to the search engine and look it up. It's as easy as one, two, three.

Maybe you don't homeschool, but you are looking for some good quality books for your child to read. How about Newbery Award winners or Caldecott Award winners? Perhaps even classical books? If you want to build a library of rich literature for your children to read, go to Homeschool Library Builder.

Homeschool Library Builder was started in 2001 by a Christian homeschool mother who wanted to start a one stop place to buy good literature. A few years ago the company was sold to two Christian homeschool families that had the same focus and desire. However, just because they are homeschool doesn't mean that they aren't for non-homeschoolers as well. All parents that care about their children would want them to read the books that Homeschool Library Builder offers.

Better yet, even though they are a small company, they offer big company incentives. When you join (for FREE!) their membership program, they give you 1 book point for every dollar you spend. Fifteen book points are worth one dollar that you can use to buy more books. If you refer your friends, for every friend that joins and mentions your name, you get 15 more bonus points. And they keep track of all of that for you. No carrying around a card to fish out and have punched every time you buy something!

So, what are you waiting for? Hop on over to Homeschool Library Builder to check them out. Just click here or on any one of the hi-lighted links above. To check out what the other TOS Homeschool Crew members are saying, just click here. Happy Home Educating!

As a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew, I was encouraged to become a member of Homeschool Library Builder to check out their site and review it on my blog.
